Match.com is probably the most recognizable online dating site out there. You've seen the commercials, and seen the ads on the internet. But does it work? In my experience, yes it does. I've been on many dates via Match.com with mostly good results. Since it's a paid membership site, I've found there to be less creepy guys then on some free dating sites. The filtering options help with this too.

What's nice about Match.com is that they have a 6 month guarantee. So if you can't find your special someone within 6 months, you get the next 6 months free.

I don't normally like free online dating sites, but OkCupid is the exception.  The site is a mix of social networking, compatibility testing (like eHarmony) and online dating.  Unlike other online dating sites, you can contact anybody in the system which is great.  I've personally been on several good dates via OkCupid so I can vouch that it works.

eHarmony is probably just as well known as Match.com now.  It features the 29 Dimensions of Compatibility test which helps you find deeper matches for you.  eHarmony is definitely not for everyone as filling at your online profile takes a LONG time.  Plus, it's the most expensive online dating service out there.  However, if you are really serious about finding a serious relationship, I've known several people who have had good luck with eHarmony.
